Welcome Sunday 2 May
Welcome to the York St Church of Christ and thanks for choosing to worship with us today. Here at York St we aim to be a church that is ALL ABOUT LIFE. Jesus Himself said that he came into the world so that we can have life and have to the Fullest – John 10:10.
Today, we begin a new series Just Walk Across the Room. This is a series that has impacted many lives and churches around the world. Just Walk Across the Room is one of best evangelistic tools around, just a few steps and a friendly hello may be all it takes to change someone’s life and their eternity! And the good news is it has more to do with taking a genuine interest in another person and listening to their story than it does with learning evangelism tactics and techniques.
Today throughout our services we will look at The Single Greatest Gift. I encourage everyone to purchase a book and study guide and join a Yorkie Life Group for the month of May. Each week as you meet in your Life Groups you will unpack and go into more detail as to how you to can Just Walk Across the Room and change a life forever.

Leadership LIFE Night 17 May

guest speaker Harvey Carey from Detroit Michigan
Harvey Carey was one of the Keynote Speakers at last year’s Global Leadership Summit. His message “Against all Odds” was a powerful and challenge message. Harvey is the founder and senior pastor of Citadel of Faith Covenant Church, a congregation of 800 in Detroit, Michigan. Located in one of the poorest zip codes in America, Citadel of faith is committed to providing real solutions for people and communities in distress.
On Monday 17th of May at 7pm will be our second Leadership Life Night. If you are in any leadership position in the life of the church then you are invited to attend this important evening. The Night will include – a light supper, teaching, prayer, planning and hearing in more of the future plans for the church. Obviously this is for those in a leadership position however if you are not currently a leader and would like to be involved then please come along.

Church Working Bee 8 May

On Saturday the 8th of May we need your help to be involved in a Church Working Bee. Throughout the morning we will aim to clean up around the church, gardening, paving and general maintenance. We encourage you to attend no matter what age and to bring along some tools to help with the work. Welcome Sunday 25 April
Welcome to York St Church of Christ on this 2010 Anzac Day. We as Christians know of the significance and the cost of our spiritual freedom, bought through the death and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Once, we were held captive by the power of sin yet now we enjoy the freedom that comes with a risen saviour. Today, we also celebrate the sacrifice of those Australian men and women who died on distant battle fields to protect the freedoms that we all now enjoy today. May we remember their sacrifice with honour, respect and dignity today.
York St Church of Christ is a church that is ALL ABOUT LIFE celebrating the life that can only be found through Jesus Christ. We aim to help people meet Jesus, become like Him and be equipped to impact the local and global community.
Today as we celebrate the Anzac Spirit, I will be speaking on the power of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the spreading of the gospel. God gives us His Spirit so we can accomplish and achieve His mission in this world. Tonight at our 6pm service the youth of our church will lead us at the Youth Takeover Service. Rachel Knight and Anna Lansdown will be baptised and so we also celebrate with them and their families today. We know that tonight will be a very special time in the girl’s lives.
Next Sunday 2 May the ‘Just Walk Across The Room’ 4 week campaign commences and today is another opportunity to register your life group, host a group or personally sign up if you’re not already in a group. To help celebrate the launch of the campaign there will be a special morning tea after the 8:45am service, a BBQ after the 10:30am service and pizza at 6pm. Sign up today and get involved in what will be a challenging and encouraging month for our church. Have a fantastic week.

Anzac Day Youth Takeover Service, 6pm
Join us this Sunday night as we celebrate Anzac Day we are excited as the youth lead us at our b-monthly youth takeover service. Rachel Knight and Anna Lansdown will also be baptised during the service. It will be a HUGE night do don’t miss it!
