Switch Youth is the awesome youth ministry of York St. We offer a wide range of activiites and groups all aimed at helping young people meet Jesus, become like Him and be equipped to impact the local and global community.
Our goal is to train, equip and instill into young people the truths of God, whilst at the same time having as much fun as possible. We are a friendly bunch of people who live life to the full and who have discovered the awesome purposes God has for all young people. Our ministry believes that young people have the capacity to do remarkable things for God and also change the world in the process.

Friday Night (Every Second Week)
Friday Night is when most young people are at a loose end and are looking for something to do. Look no further! Every second Friday Night we offer both Wildside and Detour (junior and Senior High) where we have a heap of fun whilst also learning about the truths of Jesus Christ. Periodic outings also occur on Friday Nights where we leave the church under the full supervison of adult youth leaders.
Youth Life Groups (Fortnightly)
Where small groups of young people can be connected, cared for and taught the Bible by a caring adult leader. This is the place to really connect with our youth ministry, be discipled and discover the awesome purpose God has for your life.
Youth Special Events
Periodic events designed for young people to invite their friends and introduce them to Switch Youth. These special events are always heaps of fun and aimed at the first timer. Events like Adventure Park, Beach Days, LOCK IN and Mudbowl are just some of the things we get up to.
Youth Camps
Our annual youth camps are always a highlight of the year. A weekend full of fun activity, and a time to be challenged to live our lives ‘out loud’ for Jesus. Our venue changes each year, and in 2013 will be at Burnside Camp, Anglesea.
Youth Takeover Services
Our bi-monthly youth takeover services always draw a crowd at our 6pm service. We love seeing young people use their giftedness in music through our youth band, multimedia and the arts. Youth Takeover services champion young people and encourage succession. Not to mention they simply just ROCK!
State Youth Games (SYG)
The annual State Youth Games is a must attend on the York St calendar not only for youth, but also all young adults. Over 3000 young people each Queens Birthday Long Weekend gather in Warragul to particpate in all the sports you can imagine. Combine a tent city, an awesome night program and you have a recipe for an unforgettable weekend.
Youth Mission Experiences
Switch Youth offers a variety of missional experiences such as bi- annual cross cultural mission trips, local mission service projects all aimed at providing young people with opportunites to look beyond the walls of Sunday Christianity. We believe that young people have a great capacity to serve others and be changed in the process.
